The process of company formation in the Masdar City Free Zone involves various steps and specific documents:
The first step is to fill out a name registration form, send it to the Free Zone Authority and pay a name reservation fee of AED 2,000. The form must then be sent to the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED).
Once you receive your trade name certification, you will be given a license form to fill out and send to the authorities. You need to submit the license form along with your business plan and other required documents. The authorities will check all the documents you submit, and you will receive an acceptance letter from the Free Zone Authority. This entire process may take up to 3 days after document submission.
As soon as you receive the acceptance letter, you will need to open a bank account. The Free Zone Authority issues the bank with a Bank Introduction Letter to open a bank account. Open a company bank account and deposit the minimum required capital. You will then receive a confirmation of capital from the bank, also known as proof of capital.
You need to send the Capital Confirmation Letter to the Free Zone Authority. Then the Memorandum and Articles of Association (MAA) can be signed. Upon receipt of the Capitalized Proof, the Free Zone will issue a License Agreement. The final step is to collect the license and sign the lease agreement.
